Upcoming! NOVEMBER 10 2018 – “UN-censored!” BANNED BOOKS PERFORMANCE

Last year the Library requested that Warwick Actor Training School collaborate with them to produce a Dramatic Presentation of this year's theme, BANNED BOOKS. We quickly discovered what a treasure trove of theater and song this was, and also how many of the same books are included in The Great American Read, now being featured on PBS.

( L to R) Season Ciriello, Hillary Leibowitz, Johnny Drumgoole, Summer Tyler, Denise Mann, Carmine Garritano, Ellie Hansen. (Missing: Jeanette Farrell and Andrew Field.)

APRIL 28 2018 – ADULT CLASS PERFORMANCE

Hello friends,

Please come and see our Performance on Saturday, April 28! You have enjoyed us before, and I think you will not want to miss this one! I am really excited about the excellent acting and these wonderful scenes. The Adult Class Performance will be SATURDAY, APRIL 28, at the Warwick Town Hall Senior Center. Free.

Act I - 1:00PM - 2:30PM, and
Act II - 3:00PM  - 4:00PM.
You may attend either or both.

Act I will be three scenes from the Pulitzer Prize winning Eugene O'Neill classic, Long Days Journey into Night. Set in New England in 1912, we witness the tempestuous and sometimes funny bonds that knit this heartbreaking family together.

In Act II, we enjoy pure comedy, with four short scenes from the Nichols/May treasury — scenes that were developed during the high point of their Improvisational fame. We would love to have you with us.

Warm regards,
Donna Haley

FALL 2016
"I AM FROM"

'I AM FROM,' an original show in word, song and wondering from the Warwick Actor Training School.

Where, who, what do we come from? And how does that contribute to who we are now and who we see ourselves becoming?

Our families, secret places, heros, difficult and happy times, and funny ones too. Thanks for celebrating with us (and joining in a bit too!) on Thanksgiving weekend. We loved taking you on this brief journey with us!

SPRING 2016
"SHAKESPEARE'S SILLIEST AND SCARIEST"
Celebrating Shakespeare's 400th birthday.

Seven wonderful teen actors performed a romping hour and a quarter of Shakespeare's silliest, scariest, most magical, and most tragical teens from Shakespeare's day!

Scenes were filled with lovers and fairies, from A Midsummer Night's Dream, jealous and deadly Edmund from King Lear, two brave sisters who disguise themselves as boys to escape from their oppressive uncle in Twelfth Night, the tragic Juliet as she takes the poison to join her Romeo, and finally Viola disguised as a boy pleading for the love of Olivia for her master who Viola secretly loves, only to find that Olivia falls for her, thinking she is a he! Again, from Twelfth Night.

We laughed, got scared, and maybe fell in love a little bit.

SPRING 2016
ADULT PERFORMANCE

Thank you for coming to enjoy, laugh and wince just a little bit at the antics of Martin and Prunella on a date where they tried to rekindle their former romance, while dealing with surprising obstacles and the pushy waitress Midge. At another table, we peaked in on two sisters on summer vacation finding hilarious unexpected moments while coping with the charming waiter, Nathan.  We visited the Briggs home — Mom and three grown daughters. Was mom really 'nuts" or was she just playing a high stakes game with her three wily daughters and their plans to move out? Finally, we spent an early evening with the the Prebles in 'Mr. Preble Gets Rid of his Wife.' Or did he? Or did she get rid of him? We watched the surprising riddle unfold with lots of laughs.

Our veteran actor ensemble delivered wonderful, funny characters and beautifully nuanced performances.
